I did some spray painting yesterday despite extremely high
temperatures. It to up to 105 though it was a little cooler than that
when I was doing the painting. The humidity was fairly low. I used
Scalecoat II Pullman Green. Everything seemed to go OK. The color
looked too black. When I painted several cars about 3 or 4 years ago
the color looked off until it dried overnight, and then it looked
perfect. This time the color did not change as it dried. So my newly
painted car sides do not exactly match my old cars. Its not so far
off that I cannot live with it. But I am wondering if my spraying in
the heat would be the reason for the difference in the color? Or is
it a problem of Scalecoat not being consistent in their mixing of colors?

Never had any issues with temps, but have had color match problems with
model paint batches changing colors slightly over several years.
Classic case for me was four HO N&W passenger cars painted with Floquil
Tuscan Red in 1973, and then the scratchbuilt obs being painted in 1976
with a new bottle of Floquil Tuscan Red. The obs looked brown when
attached to the red train. Very frustrating!
Since it has been several years for you also, I suspect the problem is
with the variations in paint rather than the heat.
Take care
