Maybe so, Michael... but the re ality is that IF and WHEN the new-and-improved products are made, the majority of the critics will actually use them, proving that there was a need after all.
But if not, then he who wanted them and made them has them for himself and get something done, so it is still a success story. THAT is the way you have to look at S scale... it is all about the INDIVIDUAL, but if someone else wants something you made for yourself, they reap the benefits of your labors, provide you with a little free publicity (by show-and-tell), AND... little by little, you get some of your investment back . Why bother! Nobody wants it! There's no converting being done! Obviously there must be some need, otherwise he wouldn't have asked about it. I'm with John (again) on this one. Its time for the old (way of thinking) to get out of the scale and time for the new (better and more progressive way of thinking). Michael Ostertag -- Sent from my Android phone with K-9 Mail. Speaking only for myself, most of my projects (such as my AF Gon to ACL K9/10/10A conversion) are on hold (or progressing VERY slowly) due to a lack of "GOOD" products. I hear all the negative remarks that are being made about the old ACE parts and I think I would rather not use such a product, opting rather to wait until something new and better coes out. So is there a real lack of interest in something new, or is there a real lack of interest in the old parts... and which reality is causing the freeze on conversions? I don't think I have to say where I stand... but (naturally) I will... out with the old, in with the new-and-improved. ----- Original Message ----- From: Pieter Roos To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, August 31, 2012 07:08 AM Subject: Re: {S-Scale List} Ace stuff I agree with Bill, I'd tend to doubt that there is enough conversion activity now to warrant a new product. I also don’t see at least on this list much converting A F to scale now with all of the great plastic cars out. However, is if someone is so motivated these bolsters would be very easy to make in Solidworks.
