I am a bit late to sending my 8 AM thoughts on this thread - mostly as a
reply to Michael and John.

I completely understand the very constant "want" of something new. I am 1 of
you in that respect. Most of us try to create and want a higher level of
accuracy, and better newer parts make things easier. I get it.

About half of my "modeling" lately has become me making things I want and
need. Some of that also includes things that will be offered for sale. If
more of US did that the scale would still be very fractured but have MANY
more cottage industry parts to choose from.

As for the tie in for the latest "Ace" thread, Russ Downs was a friend of
mine. He did not originate much of the line but for the most part stayed in
the same market which was never the ultra-accurate modeler. I don't get how
any comments contrary to a "I wished we had" is "holding the scale back".
Counter the "I wish we had" with I will invest $1000.00+ (Truly peanuts in
the big time train making world) to MAKE it and possibly never see a profit.
That is the Sasquatch of the S Scale world - **profit**. Most of us have
heard the rumors that it exists but few have actually seen it!

Try making something -on your own, not ask another company to make ___ from
HO into S. Invest YOUR money into your fidget widget du jour and see how
quickly your want list shrinks.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
