Dear Brooks,
I believe the AF comp. wheel profile we use was from the work of Walter Graef of Ace.  I was told he based his design on the NMRA RP25 but with a wider tread and deeper flange.  These wheels will work on code 100 rail with small spikes.  Once our builder drew up the plans, we would send out to anyone we thought might be building anything in S that required AF comp. wheels.  I have sent Lionel this drawing several times over the years.  I am not sure if the ever used on considered using our drawings.

Ed,

I thought you might have the specifics on this. Three flanges on one engine...amazing! The S SIG is working hard to promote using S standards among scale manufacturers. Maybe someone needs to work just as hard to get a set of standards for 'non-scale' manufacturers, if that's even possible.
