I have uploaded a set of photos and diagrams of the underbody details for the
1949 Pullman Standard lounge/observation car Washington. This car was part of
a complete new train built by Pullman Standard for the B&O. The observation
car Washington is now located in the B&O Museum in Baltimore.
The photos and diagrams are located in a Photos folder entitled:
B&O PASS CAR UNDERBODY DETAILS
One of the exhibits includes some measurements not typically available: The
height of each underbody component, measured from the bottom of the car side.
Also included in the table is the depth of each underbody component.
Finally, I have included a general diagram of the underbody arrangement for
several of the Columbian train set cars. This diagram, which also includes
some useful measurements, was created by another S-scaler, Bill Oertly.
Hope this information will be useful to those detailing passenger cars. Let me
know if you have any questions.
