boB, I've had luck buying ProtoMax by lots of 20, usually under $20.  I'm 
installing them in SHS, Am models and S Scale America (Des Plaines) and they 
work better than KD 802/808s.  
As someone said on here you can use both side holes by cutting just a bit 
bigger hole, starting the other side and then bearing down at a very slight 
angle and the other screws in.  
I use KD 1/4" roundhead screws.  It's crazy, the KD screws cost $4.95 per 
dozen, so the screws cost nearly what the couplers do.  
I'm going to use KD 808s on my 2 Rio Grande 35s because they'll look good and 
can be body mounted as they should be.  But...those **** springs...
Last time my wife got on her hands/knees found 8 springs in the carpet.  Hate 
those **** things.
