At first glance, it sounds like an official Lionel decision based on slow
sales/reservations of a toy-like modern diesel with scale wheels which will not
run on conventional DC and was never advertised outside of a single page in the
catalog.

I wonder how many folks, besides myself, wrote to Lionel asking for transition
era equipment and explaining that folks interested in modern engines are quite
the minority in S scale. Not to mention other minor tweaking to make it much
more appealing to the scale modeler.

"S"orry to hear the news....Ed L.

PS: Fred Rouse....wanna sell some wheelsets as part of a scale conversion kit
for Lionel locos? Contact me if interested.
