Years ago I picked up several 6" stainless steel rules.  All have at least one 
side graduated in 64th's and black markings/numbers (needed for my ever failing 
eyes!).  One was from General Hardware Manuf, NY; the other from L.S Starrett 
Co, in Athol, MA (#C303SR).  I've found they come in very handy for smaller, 
tight clearance measurements or aligning decals/dry transfers.  I don't always 
need the longer rule and I like metal over plastic or wood for durability.

Just thought I would throw that out as an option, not sure if those companies 
sell longer riules...
