My RR'ing time this week-end was spent mostly running trains, except for an
interlude to find out why my new Stapleton throttle was cutting out. Turned out
it wasn't the throttle at all, but a hair trigger circuit breaker on the AF
transformer that powers it. I changed that out, and now everything is back to
normal.

When this throttle didn't arrive on schedule in January, Ken Stapleton took the
"bull by the horns," so to speak, and immediately shipped another one. Not only
that, he included the fixture for the momentum feature, and I now have
momentum, too. That's what I call service!

Next project is to take the offending transformer apart and install a 3-amp
fuse in place of the circuit breaker. Also did some motive power reassignments
by sending RS-1 #30 to Mooar Yard for repairs to find out why it has developed
a "lope" in its "git-along". GP-9 #42 went to Terminal District to fill in
while #30 is out of service. SW-1 #22 is back on the job, since I readjusted
the U-joint coupling between the trucks, and has been providing trouble-free
performance. A while back, I added a two-way capacitor and a flywheel, and
although this engine has only 4-wheel electrical pick-up, it performs as well
as the road power with its 8-wheel pick-up.

Still no sign of the Sceni-Geni, so I guess I'm going to have to take a break
from running trains and do some scenery work on my own. I notice a new tree
crop is about ready on the road sides. Over and out!
