Jim,

:-) Great video...

Fortunately I've never advocated for the use a tablet or a magazine (insert
your favorite model train magazine here) for that final job :-) ...neither
quite frankly would work very well! And there are still places where PCs excel
-- like databases, spreadsheets, etc. I wouldn't use a tablet for those either.
But IMHO a PC has never been optimized for reading stuff....yes it could/can
support reading stuff, but pliers can also get a nut off if you don't have the
correct size socket wrench. But it is definitely not preferred!

My Dad impressed on me early on about using "the right tool for the job -- and
its not always a hammer!"

Seriously I'm hoping we see more and more of the "black box" inside
locomotives...I already have plenty of the older products where I can use all
my tools to my hearts content...for the future let me just put it on the track
and the locomotive will figure out on its on -- what I have for a control
system, and give me the most control possible, given the constraints...imagine
if string Bob had simply put his NW2 on the track and it ran off his DC
controls -- he likely would have had no interest in ever opening it up...

Regards
Michael Greene
