It might be interesting to consider the various uses of a high-tech device vs.
a cellulose-based magazine AFTER the initial purpose of said item (reading S
scale content) has been concluded. The high-tech device can archive material,
send/receive emails, read next month's issue, etc. without end. The low-tech
device, on the other hand, can be used to wrap the smelly fish, soak up spilled
milk, make money for the Boy Scouts (remember paper drives?) and so forth.
Is there any doubt as to which after-use is more valuable?
And, one is available for free at the library while the other costs hundreds
and hundreds of dollars. Sort of like comparing apples and oranges. Apples,
however, can take photos and oranges cannot.
