Maybe I am in error, that it was the hi-cube box instead.  It has always been
my understanding that Frisco built the first full-length auto rack, that Santa
Fe tried to claim "first" by slapping a rack on a 50' car to jump the gun

Yes Hansel was quite a modeler and manufacturer. His kits had mostly hand-drawn
plans and typed instructions.

When he sold his stuff I bought his 86' high cube boxcar. It has a working
cushion underframe and "spinner" roller bearing trucks. I wanted to purchase
that Main Central operating wrecking crane but I just couldn't afford it at the
time.

Assuming you mean Hansel Main, he was quite a modeler. I remember seeing his
working rotary snow plow machine. His F-unit had working windshield wipers. And
I believe he also built a working 250-ton crane with small motors inside. He
was way ahead of his time with regard to animation of all kinds. Ed Loizeaux
