Ed: I'm not familiar with the MC4 but I have done several installations using the TCS T4X and T6X decoders - mainly in steam locomotives like the 2-6-6-2 and my H10 2-8-2. I've had zero problems and been quite pleased. Both those decoders accepted the TCS VR1.5-H voltage regulator - it plugged right into the decoder. The regulator really helped simplify wiring and operation of auxiliary lighting such as classification, cab and number board lights.
