Ah, you hit on something. In order to please our contemporary idea of instant gratification, kit building has gone by the wayside. Just think of the relative prices of cars that came as a kit vs a R-T-R car that was built by someone in the Far-East. That would surely solve the cost problem for folks like me on a fixed income that has the time and desire to build kits.
