I have seen some astonishing "accessories" built to scale. One that comes to 
mind, which is not all that complex, was a bucket loader (aka steam shovel) 
moving crushed rock into a parked hopper. I believe the rock just passed 
through the open bottom of the hopper, and was recycled into the pile. A couple 
of servo motors, a microprocessor, and you could have a real eye-catcher. What 
an idea for the BASS modular layout. Hmmm...
