Bill,
Glad you included a photo with that.  What is it they say: "a picture is 
worth a thousand words".  So you made a collar to fit over the acetyl 
plastic pronged molding then bored through it to the shaft and threaded 
the collar for set screws? I know: "that's what I said", but I'm just 
trying to get it straight for the probably hundreds of us who have one 
or more of these causing problems.
Another solution I used on the RR Allegheny models is to drill through 
the coupling and the shaft with a carbide micro drill and insert a wire 
to secure the whole thing.
And if we just had somebody to make us the equivalent of little bitty 
hose clamps life would be even better -- NWSL/OSO are you listening?
