Hose clamps? If the screw part of a hose clamp isn't going to cause balance problems why not use small wire wraps? I use them all over to replace hose clamps, only downside is not reusable but they are cheap.

Wire wraps and duct tape are staples in my repair box, scale and 1 to 1.
