Hi boB --

I thought S Scale Loco & Supply was coming out with new wheelsets at a slightly
better price than NWSL and lots better than MTH, though I have not checked with
Fred R. about this. In any case, it’s one of those areas inflation can be
seen and it is unlikely we will see $1 per axle wheelsets ever again.

To Pieter’s comment about AM trucks – to me they are the best 50 ton trucks
ever made. Maybe too free rolling for you, though...

Have fun!

While everybody is going Ga! Ga! over the latest high priced out of orbit
offerings from MTH and Lionel, those of us who need basic things like wheels to
put under models we operate are suffering a severe shortage of wheels.

What would it take for one of our manufacturers to produce some S scale wheel
and axle sets in metal, RP-25 in Code .110, .125, or .115 sizes. The ones that
are available are simply too pricey to be of any use in a long range scenario.

I have been assembling some Northeastern trucks, and have run out of wheels.
Almost makes me wish for the bad old days when we at least had a foundation to
build models on. I simply can't afford the prices on these new S scale models
that are supposed to be coming out, and the going price for wheelsets is in the
same area. I certainly don't want to return to HO after all these years just to
get running gear!
