Tom, Could it be the wrong end of the system is being addressed? When I put my 4 X 8 layout to power I had a dead section of track when I threw the switch. I found the semaphore wasn't throwing far enough to close the contacts. By cleaning the slug and core, it cleared up the problem. Just a thought.
