I need your help.

My 312 K5 steamer stalls when it runs over the plastic frog on
switches. The wheels and track have been cleaned with a dremel tool
& brite boy respectively. The tender is a cast metal unit with link
trucks. By using a voltmeter, I have narrowed the problem down to the
front truck brass wheels - there is poor contact between the wheels &
track. When the engine is stalled on the frog, the other pickup
wheel is not resting on the rail solidly enough to get electrical
contact. Pushing its axle down with a screwdriver re-establishes
contact and the engine moves.

I tried twisting the truck to change the alingment, but have had no
luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
