Everyone: I am in the process of tuning up a barrel loader to get it ready for a Christmas layout display. I got a new forklift, man and barrels from Port Lines Hobby (thanks to Doug Peck), so I am now trying to get it to work reliably. There seem to be two problems. One is that the barrels tip out of the rack, but sometimes fall short of the forklift. I believe that this requires some bending of the arm from the motor to the forklift to assure that the forklift gets close enough to the barrel rack, but any other suggestions are welcome. The other problem is that the mechanism seems to make quite a bit of noise as it is moving the forklift. I took off the shed and the gears are pretty gunked up with grease. I was considering cleaning these with tuner cleaner and then relubing. What else should I check to see if I can quiet this down a little? Another question that I had with the barrel loader is that there appear to be two pins in the rod between the motor and the forklift. I am using the outer pin to attach the forklift, what is the inner one for?
