Rance.....I too am not foud of crawling under benchwork...My new shelf
layout will have A base height of 32"....It will be made of 1 x 4's with 1 x
4's at 24" o. c. cross members and bolted to the wall...Room is 9'6" x
13'-6" with a 24" shelf and A 12" +- shelf 6" above. This will just clear
the tops of my cataloge file cabinets...After I work out the track plan, I
plan to add 4" of styrofoam so I can do away with the totally flat
look...Carve as I please....One section will have A base height of about
12"....(4' long high trestle).....I plan to glue supports for A second level
about 6" above the first....As for the wiring...My round the wall layout
will be 2' wide....I plan to use a long drill to go through the foam and
1/4" plywood table...Attach the wires and drop them down...reach under with
a stick with a hook on it and the pull the wires thru the exposed front
table rail ( predrilled holes at 24" o. c. ) at about 1" below the
plywood....then after STANDING UP and connecting my wires I am going to run
them along the table front to my panel...Then cover the wiring with A nice
strip type cover of some kind...BTW if any body has any good plans for this
shape...let me know...At 64 I think this will be the last time I start over
on A layout...But who Knows? Bob Conner
