I just bought a # 499 New Haven engine. When I removed the plastic shell, I noticed that there was slight melting of the plastic above each of the headlamp light bulbs. The melting was not enough to disfigure the external plastic (at least so far).
Is there any remedy to mitigate this? I was considering gluing a small piece of heavy tin foil in the area to dissipate the heat.
