While there were tremendous inaccuracies, and some of them would have added
to the movie if they'd been correct, it was an OK movie. Not a Frank Cappra
movie, but an attempt at one. At least they mentioned the forward thinking
benefits that ACG provided their workers.
One true part that many viewers probably didn't believe was the letters.
I myself wrote letters to the Gilbert Company--not to praise them for their
toys, but to get parts for my much-abused 307 engine. Not only did I get a
reply from my handwritten letters, I got a parts list and when I ordered
them, the parts! What company today would do that?? Somewhere I have one
such letter, when I find it again, I'll scan it and post it (Gilbert
returned it with their response).
