Mike.....before you give up completely on re-using the original 
driver centers, give it one more try but instead of using super glue 
( which I personally have never had anny success at other than 
sticking my fingers together ) go to a good auto parts place and get 
a small bottle of Loc-Tite.  This is the industrial world's answer to 
acc, and when the surfaces are properly prepared, you'll not be able 
to get the wheels off the axles.  Loc-Tite comes in several 
formulations, the 262 would be fine.  Clean the mating surfaces of 
the axle and the wheel center using small files to get all the old 
oils, greases and acc gone, you really need CLEAN surfaces for this 
to work! Finish up with lacquer thinner and q-tips until there is no 
discoloration on the cotton. One drop of Loc-Tite on the wheel's hole 
and another on the  axle and press together.  The beauty of your 
situation is that the Loc-Tite gives you some working time to get 
everything lined up and quartered correctly.  That's been my bugaboo 
in the past doing as you are contemplating now.  I would hazard to 
guess that originally, only the axle was splined, the wheel center 
was not, and slightly undersize to boot.  As the wheel was pressed 
onto the axle, the splines on the axle made mating splines in the 
wheel, holding the wheel tight and setting up the 90 deg. quartering 
necessary for the engine to run smoothly.  It'd be only by chance 
that you'd end up with another set of wheel centers where the 
orientation of their splines would match the orientation that was 
there originally and thus keep your drivers properly quartered.  Give 
it a try and if it fails, well then shame on me and a hearty round 
of "I told you so's"
