Dear Bill:
Please do yourself a favor with your future cars. Rather than
solder the doors shut, super glue them instead. This will make your life
much happier should you ever change your mind and want one open. Super glue
can be cut or dissolved and it melts at far lower temperature than good
solder.
Thanks for sharing this knowledge. Should any of your cars ever come up for
sale I now know I need to ask before I bid. If the doors are soldered shut,
I will pass.

Hi All,
<clip>
I have had a change of opinion on most brass cars. That is why the above are
now not needed. I solder hatches and doors shut because it scratches paint
and weathering jobs. There are plenty of opening doors on the S Helper
Service cars etc.
I recently set a record. I soldered SIX doors shut on 1 boxcar! The PRR X33a
has 2 opening ends doors. I just finished decaling it. I will post a photo
when it is completed.
Thanks
Bill
