A group to remain unnamed tried to buy AF from Lionel a few years ago for
over $1,000,000. Lionel turned them down. I'm a close friend of one of the
Principals, and this is first hand knowledge. We of this group could each
give $1,000 and it would be to no avail. SHS and AM are stealing the S-gauge
market from Lionel and they are letting it happen via indifference. This past
yr. is probably a reflection of some awareness that there might be a market
out there after all. The accessory items and rolling stock made (albeit of
questionable quality) Is the biggest effort they have made yet. Two days
late and $2 short if I may have MHO.
