Hi Tom,

Thanks for the message and I respect your view.

I am all for Ebay, and I have purchased some great AF and other things, not
related to trains at all, in the past. I have made a great friendship with a
great seller of AF on Ebay, one of the best, with high marks and allot of
sales. I am happy that we have this way to see trains and things in all
part of the country and I even got AF from a great seller in Canada.

I also wrote in a S-list email, that I point things out to sellers on Ebay
when I feel they wrote something that could hurt the bid to be lower than it
should be and hopefully, the seller will get a possible higher sell for them
if they correct the descriptions with the reasons why. I.E. The Domino
Hopper I wrote about.

I wasn't asking for much for the item in question, just add the neccessary
information. Had nothing to do with money per say, just that I didn't want
to see someone win that on a bid based on the complete item. Sorry, if I
cause the entire Ebay system to crash.

I have no cursade against Ebay and if you took it that way, then I am sorry.

My email to him was very polite, non-threatening and one email only to him,
one.

And I will tell, money is not the issue with me for AF, anywhere, as I pay
allot more, at times for AF, that are for a one of a kind and may never be
seen again, in a certain condition, like LN and Mint. I had no problems
about the money of the bid for the piece as represented by itself, if
represented correctly.

Someone wrote me about AF fakes. Wish someone told me about those Brown
pipes on a C&O gondola, that I paid more than Greenberg in 1993, when I got
that from a well know dealer, and the pipes were repro's and I had no idea
about repro parts, at the time and he didn't say a word nor was it written
on the tag. Yes, I was too new in this hobby in 1993 and very excited about
buying more, as I had very little AF, like you, as a child, too. My wife
and I search for AF and did it too fast. Made mistakes. And I didn't want
someone to do what I did with that AF 25056. And I am still learning, with
books and emails on this list, and writing to people like you to share
thoughts about stuff.

I email my question to the group and many responded to me, mostly negetive
to me and I think it is fair to let me respond to those, like your email. I
have no anger with anyone.

I did not bother this man again on this issue, while you all responded to my
first email and the others, as I responded back to the many who wrote. I
did thank GTO 74, the seller, after he changed the description.

I collect things for enjoyment, not for investment purposes, by the way.
But, I want things to be represented the way they should be.

I wish you well with your AF collection also, maybe someday I could say
hello to you, as I hope to do some traveling to Florida, in retirement days,
to see more of Spring Training.

Mike
