Got my SHS Great Northern F7 from the UPS guy today. Unwrapped it and have
it running around the layout. This thing is not only geogous and a great
runner (SHS Givens) but everything is there for the scale or high rail guy.

People complain on this list about Knuckle couplers or KD assembly. There
are both Knuckle and assembled knuckles in the box. Don't like hi-rail,
want scale , its in there. Want to add a coupler to the front to double
head, thats there too. and it has sound.

After having one of these for about $270 and having bougnt a compariable
quality AM E-8 (without the scale parts) for about $225. I cant see why
anyone would want to buy any engine from Lionel unless they raise their
quality standards a lot. (Duck and cover here.)

Thanks Don for another incredible piece of rolling stock and even in a
northwest line.

An open question: How many of you complaining about "no modern equipment
have an AM SD60"?? Another great engine ( I have a BNSF and a demo scheme)
and admittedly not the latest but as modern as most everything I see around
here. Just curious, as sales of them with some encouragement to Ron should
translate into more modern type stuff.

I'll hide now, but I really am curious as to how people expect the new
Lionel Flyer stuff to compare.

By the way, I bought a set LTI NP last year, sold the Engines on ebay, and
replaced them with a pair of AM F-7's (only NP's) and came out almost even
with better running engines. The problems I always have with the LTI stuff
is speed control. They only run fast and are pretty jumpy. Now I still
need to get the LTI stuff through the SHS switches but Don is working on
that.

Ok back to playing with the trains now.
