- Greeting`S' - Regarding Jim's question about running the 0-6-0, normally battery operated, on AC. Practically all battery-propelled locos have permanent magnet motors which are DC only. Put a 2, 3, or 4 A bridge rectifier between your AC supply (transformer) and the DC load (0-6-0 battey engine). Include a resistor if your trans- former starts off at 7 V or so. Reversing the DC leads from the the rectifier to the loco will reverse the direction if it is indeed a permanent magnet motor.
