Guys,
I said all of this before, but here it goes again.
These "new" cars use old Marx 3/16 inch tooling, with
newly manufactured S gauge trucks. They are NOT 027
cars!!! Pick up an old Marx 3/16 inch plastic boxcar
or tank car. These were almost dead on S gauge. In
fact, an American Flyer S gauge boxcar body fits right
into the bottom of a Marx 3/16 inch boxcar.
With this pricing, we will be getting Lionel AF
quality for the prices that Lionel should be charging
for their old re-runs of Gilbert molds. Scalers will
have sound basic cars with good graphics just waiting
for bashing. Everybody wins with this one.
