Good thought Michael. We started our club around promoting model trains and S gauge. The North Penn S Gaugers have a growing modular layout and 26 members. We started our club 5 years ago and many of our members have been encouraged to build a layout and buy "S" trains. It is a slower process than selling 100,000 cheap starter sets. We show our layout at more that 5 train shows per year and receive money for the club for doing it from $75 a show to $150 per show. Thousands have seen our layout.
