Hi Scott,

I was having a little fun off the track cleaning thread and opposing camps; one that
swears by Cramolin Paste as an aid to electrical conductivity when used lightly on
rail tops, the other being those who swear by the use of Wahl Clipper Oil lightly
applied on the rail tops. My take-off was a spoof.

IMHO, the only thing that should be applied to plastic is a little mild soapy water to
clean it. Some say that a little Endust will restore the bloom to plastic. That's
about it. Anything else will likely knock down the shine from the 50+ year old paint.

Metal parts - same treatment as plastic.

A lot of people feel that Armour-All will attack the plastic due to it's silicate
content and shouldn't be used.

That's my take on it all.

Hope this helps,
Tim Brown

Subject: [S-Trains] Keep them looking "like new" - shine up product suggestions...

  S-gaugers,

What the heck is Kremlin Paste?

Is this a sarcastic remark (back in the the USSSR), or a real product that
you use to spit shine ?

Does anyone have any suggestions for making the plastic on Flyer look "like
  new"?

Also, the metal parts - maybe some sort of wax or light polish?

I was considering using an Amor All type high shine product for the plastic.

Would this be safe or are there other better alternatives?

I hope like the track cleaning thread there are lots of good suggestions...

  Scott Dee
