Gentlemen: I was just wondering what would be an appropriate time line for our infatuation since I do not think that our message board is appropriate for discussions on the traditional and correct BC/AD versus BCE/ACE as proposed by those who lack frontal lobes. Anyway, I submit for discussion, thoughts and comments a potential time line for our hobby. For example: I would state that we have four major time lines for S: * Before 1945, the O Gauge Era (OGE) While S did exist, AF was O and most of us didn't exist yet. * 1946 thru 1966, the AF Era (AFE) The golden years when we were kids and we had our toys. * 1967 thru 1989, The Discounted Era (DE). The Dark Ages. Our mothers stored and then threw out our sets. But good times for AF collectors. * 1989 thru the present, The 'You want what for .? era (YWWFE). New products and new members because the kids now have money and manufacturers recognize it. (Note: this era continues as long as the corvette appreciation algorithm found in certain advanced micro economics treatises is meaningful, and the wife doesn't realize how much you are really spending on your hobby (e.g. exceeds the worth one or two 1967 restored corvettes) ). Another important factor is that we have more free time, like when we where kids, because our kids are gone and some of us are retired. Regads, Joe
