Yeah, it is a known issue since at least 3.0.4. I have had a fix
forever, so try
http://sage.math.washington.edu/home/mabshoff/polymake-2.2.p5.spkg
or much quicker apply
http://sage.math.washington.edu/home/mabshoff/polymake-2.2.p5.spkg-install.diff
to spkg-install in the polymake.spkg. I still need to do some cleanup,
but I will fix this today since this has come up five times by now.
