Just for the record: A long time (>1year) ago, I had a similar problem
(and reported it in sage-support, I think). In one place of my code I
had a logarithm, which, as I learned later, invokes maxima. And
similarly, the time for the same computation became slower and slower
when repeating. Changing a single line (removing the use of the
logarithm) fixed the problem.
