I found some major Cygwin specific crap in sage-env that has been
messing with my builds for quite a while, i.e. I could not link
against static libs at all. That will make building Sage on Cygwin
much easier.
Dan will be working on packaging components as an MSI, i.e. the Sage-
lite project.
My plan post Sage 3.3 is to merge back the two dozen or so Cygwin
fixes I have sitting on my hard disk into the tree and to get Sage to
start up again. Then I will fix doctesting issues and generally plan
to provide a binary for now while working next on the SUA port. I am
not sure if Cygwin will ever become supported to be build out of the
box again, but at least binaries that pass doctest should exist. I am
not sure this will happen in time for 4.0, but we will see how it
goes. Now that the OSX 64 bit as well as the Solaris port are getting
close to Tier I this will be my main focus.
