I am getting errors building linbox on an Intel mac, 10.4.11.  I get
several errors of the form:

/usr/libexec/gcc/i686-apple-darwin8/4.0.1/libtool: internal link edit
command failed

This is while attempting to build 3.4.1.rc3 from the tar file (i.e.
not an upgrade).
