I would not be so sure it will be in Sage any time soon, as I understand 
Maxima updates have tended to cause 'issues'. But you can download an 
spkg I made from

http://sage.math.washington.edu/home/kirkby/Solaris-fixes/maxima-5.19.0/maxima-5.19.0.spkg

if you want to try it.
