I set up a machine with the first release of Solaris 10 - the March 2005 
version. For some reason libgcrypt will not build, but has errors:

This seems something to be aware of. I did a quick google on the error, 
and found other references to it. I just need to sort out why. Clearly 
if we want to support Solaris 10, we need to make sure Sage runs on the 
first release of Solaris 10.

It would be nice if we could run on older versions of Solaris too. 
Solaris 8 and 9 are in quite common use still.
