Hello,

Just installed Sage on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with:

Python 2.6.5 (r265:79063, Apr 16 2010, 13:09:56)
[GCC 4.4.3] on linux2

     This is what happens:

craigugor...@craigugoretz:~/Desktop/sage-4.4.4-linux-64bit-ubuntu_8.04.4_lts-x86_64-Linux$
 ./sage
----------------------------------------------------------------------
| Sage Version 4.4.4, Release Date: 2010-06-23 |
| Type notebook() for the GUI, and license() for information. |

/home/craigugoretz/Desktop/sage-4.4.4-linux-64bit-ubuntu_8.04.4_lts-x86_64-Linux/local/bin/python:

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

What you are doing is right. One of the main machines people test code on is a Ubuntu box, so I'm puzzled you get this.
