I think its ridiculous to suggest that access to the bug tracker doesn't 
matter just because its a closed-source product. Every non-trivial code has 
bugs and when you run into one it is very helpful to know that other can 
reproduce it, what kind of workarounds there are, and get notified when the 
bug is fixed. (Though it tends to leave a stale taste in your mouth if you 
are then asked to buy a new version to get the fix for the bug you reported)

As far as I know the commercial M's don't even offer professional customer 
support. When I found a  bug in Intel's C++ compiler (that crashed on some 
well-formed C++), I could report it on their bug tracking system (though it 
does not allow you to see other bugs) and an Intel engineer tried to find a 
workaround. They eventually suggested a workaround and finally informed me 
that it got fixed in a newer release.
