There's a minor difference between redirecting vs alias in that an alias
does not respect inheritance:
class Foo:
def f(self):
return 5
alias = f
def redirct(self):
return self.f()
class Bar:
def f(self):
return -1
F = Foo()
F.alias()
5
F.redirect()
5
B = Bar()
B.alias()
5
B.redirect()
-1
