Hi looked a bit more into this stuff and I think that the main reason why this happens is that even though we have a lot of patchbots with a lot of optional packages, we do not have a buildbot with optional packages. So I think that a lot of the current problems can be significantly reduced if we manage to setup a buildbot that runs all tests with all optional packages installed. But I think a strict requirement for a buildbot to be added is that is should pass all tests, so as an intermediate step we should setup one using all currently working optional packages.
