SAISA sailors arrived to the J. Stewart Jr. Sailing complex at 9:00am to
cloudy skies with a light and shifty NW wind. The first two races of the event
were sailed in the Cooper River. The shifty wind was keeping the RC on their
toes & the ebb tide began to rip, so we scooped up the marks and headed to crab
bank. The wind on the the bank was steadier and the current was more in line
with the course. We completed race 8B in a 4-6 knot N/W wind with a slacking
ebb tide before heading back to the dock for a lunch break. The final 8 races
took place in the Cooper river with a slightly more cooperative wind and tide.
All courses were a trapezoid configuration. We had no break downs and one
protest was filed and disallowed. Thanks to coach Ned for running the RC and
all of the Cougar sailors who helped manage a quality event!
