No, it doesn't fail from SA all of the time; just started happening today and only a few times. I figured it was something wrong with the SMTP service, just didn't know that message indicated a timeout. I think my poor mail server is just overloaded and needs an upgrade.
I tried telnetting before I posted and it responded OK. It is just getting overwhelmed at times I suppose. Thanks for the help. Try to connect to the SMTP server using a telnet client and see how long it takes before getting the normal message. telnet <smtp_server_name> 25 220 something bla bla bla Do you get this within 15 seconds? Does it fail all the time from within Servers Alive? dirk. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Bunting, Jeff Sent: Fri Dec 13 8:06 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: [SA-list] SMTP error Looks like I have Friday the thirteenth gremlins today.
