Hi Dirk,

You are right, I was editing entries to simulate the up and down.
I already stopped doing that. And now, I will get up and down emails
if I don't manually edit them. Thanks for the tip.

I use the %s as the default way..

Best Regards,

Did you edit the entry to simulate the up/down?

If you get a notification all the time it's down, then probably the send
options are something like
        send when -3 times down
The - makes it send on each down cycle ones it is at 3 down cycles.
(so on the 1st down it won't send the mail, neither on the 2nd, but it will
on the 4th, 5th,...)

How and were are you using %s?

dirk.

Hi Brent and Dirk,

I have another problem. I set up "Status Change" option on the SMTP tab of
the Setup page.
"Status Change" is also selected on the SMTP page of the Alerts tab on each
monitored service.
Additionally, I have selected the "When Exactly" option with the "when back
up too" option, but
I just can't receive anything when the host has changed from 'down' to 'up'.
I get notification when the service goes down all the time though!

I also looked up the log file, it sent email when host is down but it didn't
do anything when
the host is up. What is wrong?? Please help..

The '%s' variable seems not updating the status!! how SA verify the status
is changed??
