If
it's SAP on NT you could use the service check for it.
Also I
suppose knowing what a huge beast SAP is, that it also has an SNMP interface and
thus it should be possible to check it via SNMP.
Also
isn't it possible to check it's TCP port? (if it has any)
And
another option is to check the SAP-web-interface (if you're using that
one).
