The only reason I can tell that the installer wants a reboot is because it registers the Servers Alive service every time it is installed.  I have seen some rare instances where the old version will restart after an upgrade unless the system is rebooted.

Dirk, is there a way in the installer to check for an existing Servers Alive service?  I set my services with recovery options and need to reset them after every installation.

Why does Servers Alive require a reboot after install?  If the application has already been installed, albeit a previous version, and is shutdown before the install proceeds, why does it require a reboot?  It seems to function correctly without it.

for all alerts:

    %y for the time

    %z for the date

and this in the latest beta build - http://www.woodstone.nu/soft/beta/salive4.exe

already in previous builds (for the HTML output):

    <sa_statuschangedate>

    <sa_statuschangetime>

I'll definitely second this request. One of the few things I really want that I haven't been able to devise a work-around.

Yes. Both please. Actually, I want to be able to use it in any sort of alert which SA can generate (this is a general answer to any piece of information that I'd like to be able to report, it should always be available regardless of the alert method).

Is there a variable to show me when last status change? In other wards, from 2am to 5am I do not want alerts however after that time I receive alerts again.  I am using the new “when a times down and every b cycles”  however I use %t %d variable but that only tells me the time of the last check.  I would like to know when the failure started not the last time the failure occurred.  In other wards I want to know when it went from up to down or visa versa.  If it is not currently possible would it be possible to implement?
