And we'll answer it again: yes, lots of us are. RealVNC is not a VPN. If you've got specific questions, like "How do I set up a VPN from one office to another?" we can definitely point you toward resources, but the question here is kind of general because there are dozens and dozens of VPN products on the market, and countless ways of setting them up. You'll need a VPN server at each location, which costs money (whether it's software or hardware, in the form of a Linux solution) and a VPN client.
There's lots of us here who can help with VPN questions, but I'd suggest starting with something basic. Pick one client with an existing VPN, and get your SA computer to log onto that VPN, preferably using a DUN entry so that you can connect it on the fly with SA. -------------------------------- Brent Ozar - UniFocus -------------------------------- "Fall is my favorite season in Los Angeles, watching the birds change color and fall from the trees." Is anyone using Salive to check systems connected by VPN? A friend has 50 to 75 clinets ( small offices) 4 to 10 computers. He'd like to set up VPN (maybe RealVNC or sonething like this) so ke can access the remote computers. I'm thinking if you set up Salive and check the connections and or (if you can) the connections to the computers you'ed be ahead of the game. If you can check the connections, at least you'ed know when a link goes down. Does this sound right? Any thoughts or ideas?? Can this be done or should it be done another way???
